Olive Branch Music Studio
Winter Newsletter December, 2010

News
• Christmas Party: A Christmas party, for students only, is planned for Thursday evening, December 16th, at at 7:15. This is intended to be a fun event and an opportunity for the students to enjoy playing for each other. More details will follow.

• Christmas Vacation: Olive Branch breaks and vacations mirror the government school schedule, and the school Christmas vacation is scheduled for December 20-January 4. Therefore there will be no lessons the last 2 weeks in December. Lessons will resume on Januaray 5, 2011.

• Recital: Our Fall “Classics” recital was a big success. Everyone worked hard to prepare, and performances were quite polished. Every student earned a prize for the practice they put in during the 2 months leading up to the recital. We were also treated to a special composition written and performed by Evan Kuenn. Evan has produced a CD of his own compositions. If anyone is interested in obtaining a copy of his CD, you can contact him at 303 384 0405.

• CFMT Festival: The annual festival is scheduled for March 12, 2011. I plan to pass out solos just before Christmas Break so students can begin early to prepare for the festival.

• Web Site: The Olive Branch Music Studio web site has been updated again and can be viewed at olivebranchmusicstudio.com. This is a good place to read information about studio policies.

• Hand washing and sanitizing: In the interest of keeping winter germs to a minimum in the studio, I will again be asking students to wash their hands and/or apply hand sanitizer before touching any of the instruments and computers. Please help your students by reminding them to do this first thing after arriving for their lessons.

Tuition As a reminder of tuition and payment schedule, please review the following. More information can be accessed on my web site.
Quarterly Schedule Lessons are based on a quarterly calendar schedule. Hence, when you sign up for lessons, you are enrolling for a three month music school session. The quarters are as follows:
Fall Quarter September 1 to November 30
Winter Quarter December 1 to February 28
Spring Quarter March 1 to May 31
Summer Quarter June 1 to August 31
Each quarter (based on the Jeffco School Calendar) consists of at least ten lessons, allowing for those occasional illnesses, emergencies, or vacations; however, in some quarters you will have eleven, twelve, or even fourteen lessons. If you enroll in the middle of a quarter, fees will be adjusted accordingly. No lessons will be held on normal school holidays. Each individual lesson is one hour long (½ hour on instrument; ½ hour at computer lab). A tardy student has only the time remaining in his or her lesson slot. This is so no one will infringe upon the lesson time of another. Rescheduling will not be possible, so please keep your appointments as often as possible.
Tuition rates are based on the quarterly schedule (see below), and payment is due before or on the first scheduled lesson of each quarter (please note, there is a late fee). To simplify payment and record keeping, please choose from two payment options:
Payment Options Registration Payment Description *Late Fee
#1 Register for full quarter Paid in full Paid by check, on or before the first lesson of the quarter applies
#2 Register for full quarter Monthly installments Monthly post-dated checks (Full tuition divided by 3, dated the first of each month), remitted on or before the first scheduled lesson of the quarter. applies
